Following the recent move to Monmouth, EKD now announces new telephone and fax numbers:
The old telephone and fax numbers will continue to work for the time being, but will be phased out over the coming months as customers become familiar with the new numbers.
EKD has received a significant new order from a major UK aerospace mechanisms manufacturer. The work is for the design and prototype manufacture of 3 sets of motors for an electrically extendable and retractable undercarriage. The mechanism is targeted at aircraft in the Airbus A320/ Boeing 787 size range. Each set of motors consists of a main retract motor, an emergency motor, and an unlock motor.
The motors are brushless types designed for short-duty operation from a 540 V DC supply. Some of the motors are dual-wound with features to minimise fault propagation. Peak power density is 3.75 kW/kg.
An earlier order from a market-leading fuel systems manufacturer based in France has meant that the EKD order intake for September 2007 has set an all-time new record.

EKD have relocated to new larger premises in order to gain additional office and laboratory space to better meet the needs of clients. The new office is in Monmouth, in the Wye valley, just on the Wales side of the Wales/England border. It is approximately 30 minute's drive on the Wales side of the Severn bridge. The office is conveniently situated just 1 minute's drive from the A40, with rapid links to the M4 and M50.
