Electro-Kinetic Designs is a company of consulting engineers specialising in the design of small and fractional horsepower electric motors. Our professional motor designers are highly experienced in the electromagnetic and mechanical design of a wide range of electric motor types.

Now based in Monmouth, on the border between England and Wales, the company has a global client base, combining professional design expertise on small electric motors with expert knowledge of the motion technology and servo component industry.

The principal business of Electro-Kinetic Designs (or EKD as it is becoming known) is to design, manufacture prototypes, and evaluate the performance of all types of FHP and small integral horsepower electric motors. A full range of additional engineering support activities is also available. Clients include motor manufacturers and actuation mechanism integrators, and operate in all industry sectors from aerospace to high volume industrial.

Alastair Flew, the proprietor and founder of EKD, has over 30 year's experience as an engineer in the motion technology business, and has an enviable network of contacts amongst motor manufacturers, motor users, and motor component suppliers.
